True, but when it got good it got really fucking good. Like the retard character suddenly unlocking something that makes them the strongest character in the story. For a brief period we saw the potential games had. Then it got killed off. Now all we have is a bunch of disorganized indies trying to copy the golden age, although every once in a while one hits the mark.

During the 6th gen PC gaming got killed off by Microsoft. Every PC series like Deus Ex, Thief, etc has been botched and turned into a console game for the Xbox. Level sizes were cut in half, systems made more simple, just completely dumbed down. So when you see the rule change happen naturally theres less people playing PC who came over.
