I've got a few original Xbox systems, but no technical skills to do soldering work. I'm getting started to hopefully restore them so I got this piece of equipment, but I cannot read Chinese, so I'm trying to use Google image translate. I think this is what I need for the clock capacitors. My studio apartment does not have any ventilation aside from the washroom exhaust, but how toxic will the fumes be? How much is an oxygen mask for doing clock capacitor work? Is there some sort of cleaning required with this thing per pad/leg? Does the tip need to be tinned or something that everyone recommends doing? I still don't have any flux or solder yet, until maybe a couple paychecks down the line, but what other materials are needed? How could one clean the Xbox if they have leaked, is baking soda the right chemical to use? Does the used baking soda for fridge odors suffice or is a fresh box needed for the spills? I love the Xbox, for all the games, but it is sad they will die without any help. Time is not on my side here.

This. I'm just attempting to remove/replace the clock capacitors of my original Xbox, and I am still lacking the vent fan for fumes, helping hands, mats, wick, and solder to even get started. Hidden costs include a phone which can machine translate Chinese instructions. The NEET kids which live rent free in a basement even make lousy excuses like "a practice board is only $15" not knowing that is just over 2 hours of work for that $15USD which is to be discarded on a failed practice. The only logical explanation is some sort of kickback for funneling money into China. Rising inflation and spiking fuel prices has made it more difficult to get the necessary funding. It would be more cost effective to find someone that already has the equipment/skills to perform the operations, but they are all asking for some $60+k annual salary to be paid by individuals for a supposed singular "simple job".

fffffff ... I did not even notice, thanks for the help. I have to start learning Chinese so I can understand how to use this stuff. I also got to figure out the components and save up for the materials to fix it. So sad to see these things in storage just go like this.
