Horror games definitely benefit from CRT.
FFX Remaster has a lot of issues. Tidus and Yuna's faces are especially bad. Textures and environmental models have great improvements. It's basically pick your own poison. I wish there was a mod that let's you combine them.
PS2 textures are low res even by 2001 standards. FFX devs had to compress textures to make them fit to PS2's VRAM. Apparently they weren't expecting PS2 Specs to have VRAM as low as 4MB.
