I'd unironically buy that just because it looks cool, picture quality be damned

AFAIK those CCTV monitors are trash. Typically black and white only, composite input only, etc.

I don't even want to imagine how expensive PVMs/BVMs are nowadays. Even years back, my opinion has been that they're far too overpriced, and it's better to just find a free consumer set like a Sony from the early 2000s with component input. You can buy a cheap RGB-component transcoder as well, and the picture quality will still look amazing. Is the PVM going to look better? Yeah, but that ship has sailed and they're not worth it anymore.

pic-related is my 24" trinitron. The striping effect is just a camera artefact

There honestly isn't. Not unless you are just dumb with your money and have literally nothing better to spend it on.

I'm lucky I got my 20" PVM for a steal years back before all the good stuff got bought up by scalpers. I think it goes for like 500 shipped nowadays, and I would never pay that.
Does RGB on a modded consumer set look as good? Well no, but you also get a much larger picture and you can easily get bigger trinitron consumer sets for free.

Even though I have my pvmeme, I still also have a 27" trinitron with component input that I'll also use with an RGB-component transcoder. Still looks really good, and it's what I would recommend to anyone wanting to get into this autism without having to shell out for scalper prices.
