Let's talk about these games.

Which was your favorite?

Currently playing them for the first time after having played Link's Awakening for the first time.
I'm on Seasons, and absolutely love it.
Ages is next, can't wait!

Let's talk about these games.

It seems like you either love 'em or you hate 'em.
What's your opinion?

Both of the Oracle games.

Ages' gimmick is a rod that lets you warp between the past and the future, with two different maps for each, and it works pretty well in practice. It's much more focused on puzzles than combat, but it's still got plenty of both.

Seasons, in contrast, has a rod which lets you change the four seasons at will, and it has a larger emphasis on combat than puzzles.

Both are really good games regardless, and they're connected in ways that will become apparent as you advance through them.

Hey /vr/ I need your opinion. Which should I buy first, Oracle of Ages, or Oracle of Seasons? I'll eventually get to playing them both, but I only have enough to get one for now. Which should I play first?

To be fair to anyone reading this not aware, its still fun and mitigates this "flaw" with its miscellanious branches of choice. The lantern at the beginning can be found in two other places. The Ice Rod and Moon's Pearl can be skipped when the game tells you to get them. Etc.

Seems like you two just have a deep story-preference. The original Zelda is still I can say without defiant confidence and surety of non-nostalgia, a better ensample of a good game than anything you can pay 6 Hamiltons for today. It's earned a stay on my top 10 because no game has yet to top its unadulterated freedom and scope. I'm not sure there's ever been a computer-program created to analyze meaningful choice, but Zelda 1 in addition to being a game with lots of content would be high up on that list. A game without good gameplay fails at everything else.

Moreover, it's the reason people choose Seasons over ages by majority today. Ages has aged terribly due to its unwavering linear structure and leanance on story over action. Its only good trait are the bosses.

Also the original guy was trolling. "Link's Adventure" and both Link's Awakenings listed separate by a margin.

So I just started Oracle of Seasons for the first time. (Up to the 4th dungeon) Never picked them up at the time despite loving the shit out of LA and LA:DX. Having fun so far, if a little frustrated at a couple of things, mostly not realising you could push pots/trampolines. It's so nice to not have handholding shoved down my throat though, so I don't care.

Just wondering if you guys have a preferred order of play? I've heard Ages has a better story and you can get equipment that makes the battles easier in the fighting heavier Seasons, but also that there's an area in Ages you can't get to unless you've played Seasons. Also totally curious about all the order specific cutscenes and stuff if that's all true?

How much of this is true/bullshit? Also, Oracles General I guess? What were your favourite moments?

I really need to get a copy of Seasons someday and link with my copy of Ages , it's been years since I finished it.

If only those online sellers didn't ask for so damn much.

Oracle games thread

Which order did you play them in?
Which one was your favourite?

I played Seasons before Ages and Seasons was my favourite.

These games set me on almost a decade long journey of Zelda fanboyism that was hardcore enough, it was almost autism.

Pokemon Red also attributed to a majority of our household battery usage.
