Twisted Metal 2 is in my opinion the most addicting of them all. You've got special attacks with inputs like fighting games, the sound design was pretty great, ramming other vehicles was a viable option for combat, and the soundtrack was killer. They also introduced some of the most memorable vehicles ever, such as Mr. Slam, Axel and Twister.

I have a few gripes, the biggest one being the AI. Whoever programmed the AI had someone piss in their coffee or kicked their dog and its puppies. It's unbelievably unfair to the point it's cheating, just like Mortal Kombat. You can only beat them on Hard if you take advantage of all the shortcomings and exploits, such as sitting in the top right corner on the 2nd floor of the chapel in Paris, knocking them off the stage on the island in Antarctica, or knocking them off the stage as the come down the ramps in New York. Moscow and Holland are two of the hardest stages in the game, simply because of the limited weapon pickups and nowhere to hide. The AI seems to only target you with any weapons that home in. Speaking of, homing missles tend to knock YOU around when the AI launches them, but not when you do. Seems to be an annoying trait carried over from the original game. It's fucking annoying.

Hong Kong is hard because the AI is cranked up to its maximum. Video related is what happens when your input for the shield special move gets eaten because there's so much going on for the PS1 to process. It's downright unfair, but boy is it oh so satisfying to overcome the AI and beat the game using one continue; anyone can beat the game if they just kept re-entering passwords every time they lost, but beating the game in one sitting, using no continues and your only three lives given to you is extremely satisfying, like a 1CC. You'll need good luck, though, as you're at the mercy of the AI if it decides that you'll win the stage or not.
