5 is very slow paced with too many gimmick areas like Star Man, Gravity Man and especially Wave Man's stages. Wave Man's level is by far the worst one in the game, probably in all the NES Mega Mans. I barely use the special weapons at all except for Beat and the super arrow. I love how the game looks though, and some of the gimmicks are fun like low gravity and reversed gravity in Star Man and Gravity Man's stages respectively.

It's definitely helped. More people are playing older games and contributing to discussion. Not here though, this is just a slower /v/ and everything is terrible. There's also not one retro gaming community. This place is a toilet and I wish I could leave. But 90% of other retro gaming communities online are as bad, if not worse.

Whenever I have free time and the drive for it, I like to marathon all 6 Mega Man games on NES for time.

6 is the least bad of the last 3 MM NES games. The environments are diverse and have great detail, the addition of the Rush adapters was a neat way to change up the mechanics, the addition of the energy balancer was very welcome especially in the late game.

5 had too many autoscrolling sections or forced you to stop and wait.
Wave Man - wait for steam, bubble riding, jetski section
Gyro Man - elevator
Crystal Man - random falling objects
Fuck yoku blocks and conveyor belts
The darkman fights were weak af
It had the best Wily stage music in the series.

4 is ok. The mechanics for the charge shot made it kind of broken. Toad Man is a joke, and it seems like you get Bright Man's tougher pattern if you use Rain Flush on him. The music in Cossack 3-4 is one of my favorite tracks in the series.
