I guess I am wrong with the "low resolution" phrase, but going 256 or full color kind of took away from the pixel art they used to do. These are screenshots from the Saturn version, which is lower resolution, but the added colors are still good, but lack the charm when they had to dither fewer colors to create the image.

I just loved the art of elf games. The pixel art work on the PC versions were great, but then in the early 89s, they started to use more colors and at first it was impressive with the color depth, but lost the amazing dithering that makes the art really pop.
