/vr/ - Retro Games

So last night, we managed to wrangle up some Descent games on /v/. But since Descent was released in 1995, it's obviously /vr/ material.

So here we are: Descent /vr/.

>What is Descent?
It's the greatest 6DOF game ever made. Released by Interplay in 1995, you fly a ship through mines on planets and moons, blowing shit up with big guns. The sequels, Descent 2 (1996) and Descent 3 (1999) are also welcome ITT.

>What is 6DOF?
It means "Six Degrees of Freedom." You can move forward/backward, slide up/down, and slide left/right through 3-D space.

>How do I play this with you guys?

Get the original games and then install the Rebirth source port. http://www.dxx-rebirth.com/
It would also be handy to look into getting the Ranger Level Packs from http://www.descentrangers.com/WebContent/Index?key=Downloads
Just be sure not to put the D1 levels into the D2 folder, or you're going to have a bad time.
