The Saitek P2600 and its closely related brethren have a great layout that acts as a nice compromise for most consoles up to the 2000s. A shame that six main face buttons are a rarity now. Also the D-pad is kinda crummy.

What it doesn't support are L3/R3 buttons on the sticks and the equally retarded pressure sensitivity stuff of DualShocks that very few games actually used.

Fits neatly into the hand and has a nice layout, but the face buttons themselves are a crime. It actually hurts to play after some time.
