Eris and Vitality. I played Eris after only having played SM once through beforehand and it absolutely pushed my shit it. I loved it though, as it taught me by sheer force and necessity how to use all the neat tricks and techniques needed for advanced Metroid play, stuff that's essential to get through other romhacks with more ease. They're also some of the best hacks our there from a visual design and aesthetic point-of-view.

One of my favourites of all-time. Superb atmosphere, minimalistic story/presentation and excellent controls. Although, I've only clocked the base game itself a couple times; I spend way more time playing the various quality romhacks, i.e. Eris, Vitality, Hyper Metroid, Ascent and Super Zero Mission, et cetera. I daydream constantly about the hack I want to make one day if I ever stop being lazy.
