Nostalgia sold poorly, and Takeru, the company that developed the game, had to close their doors for good. Yotsui moved to Mitchell Corporation, where he developed one of my favourite arcade games of all time, Cannon Dancer -- an experience much more like the Strider games, but even crazier.

Speaking of plagiarism, Mitchell were the developers of Puzz Loop -- an arcade game that was famously pretty much copied by a much more popular casual PC game Zuma. The Zuma devs later even admitted that they've discovered Puzz Loop while dicking around in MAME and thought that the design was solid, so they just copied it.
