It is a bit unconventional, but I appreciate it having what I would now describe as a sort of early Japanese computer game charm. Back then, there wasn't much on the Genesis so it was kinda standout in that first year.

I think it is more a disdain for anything Sega. Whenever a Sega game is mentioned here, there is just so much hate around it. The arcade action kind of games are much less robust than full at-home experiences that most here expect, so it may contribute to a perceived lack of value given the games used to be really expensive even without calculating in the inflation rate.

Yeah, they did the animation and design work for Alisia Dragoon which is a fun but challenging game. It was one of those games exclusive to Sega that got me interested in the system.

It was born from some great Japanese computer developers in Gainax and GameArts. Of course it is going to be awesome. It was one of the early Genesis titles that made me a fan of the system.
