The reason the game was so good is that veterans hated the idea of a realistic WW2 video game, and FPS enjoyers thought making a WW2 game was a dumb idea (which is kinda funny in retrospect); so they had to work hard to convince everywhere

Both games are great because they're still 90's shooters with fun arcady gameplay at heart; unlike the turn the genre took in the 00's.
