Consolegoods sells 20pin chips. You'll have to email the guy cause he can't publically list them due to paypal complaining. I've tested them in all but 2-3 very uncommon CD drives, and they work in everything but the Sanyo drives. For those, you need the old EMSIC7-1 type chips which he also sells.

Oddly, the prototype of his chips works with the Sanyo drive, but the final ones didn't.

Also, model 1 and model 2 says fuck all of the hardware inside: There are over 14 different motherboards, spanning over 4 different CD drive families, and about 12 different drives in total. Many model 1s and model 2s have the same type of boards in them, Sega was reusing old stock in new cases to get rid of them.
