This shows a better examples of what was going on. Since the crack was on the mid top-left of the outer chassis (and later I found several pieces of broken plastic during disassembly all throughout the inner chassis), that's why the discoloration was concentrating to the upper left and gradually deteriorating towards the bottom right. I mistook it potentially as magnetization but the presence of discoloration in the center of the monitor made me think otherwise.

I would probably make more money anyways by parting out the chassis than trying to sell an entire defect XM29 unit (not to mention I have no fucking clue how to pack and ship something that large).
