There was an actual bootleg of SMB2USA, I played it as a kid on my famiclone as "Super Bros. 5".

Basically the same game though, don't think it had any actual difference with the real thing.

I wasn't sure about the authenticity of this when I was a kid, I knew these "Super bros" games were always bootlegs (also had Super Bros. 6 which was a Mario hack of Tiny Toon Adventures), but I was familiar with the vegetables in SMB2 because of the cartoon show.
