Yes, you lose the dithering effect when using RGB on genesis games. But the alternative is not fucking worth it. Genesis has by far the worst composite video of any console to ever exist. Everything looks blurry, like it's smeared in vaseline, and you get these horrible jailbar effects (pic-related) that are especially apparent on blue backgrounds and white/transparent/dithered things like the sanic waterfalls.
