>Dracula is the biggest fucking bullshit prick boss.
He's actually not that bad once you know how to do it. I remember the first time I got to him I struggled, but then watched someone on Youtube do it. For the first form, you just use the whip. Constantly move so when he teleports he's not generating into you and so you have enough space to jump over his fire and hit him. (the key is to not get cornered at either end of the room.) It's actually simple. You just jump as soon as he releases the three fireballs. You jump over them before they even have a chance to expand. In the same jump, whip his head. Yes, it's precise to an extent, but I found it easy to get it down to a pattern, and it's not like it's pixel perfect precise. You just have to be in front of him and not be pushed up to one end of the room or another.

For the second form, (it's actually not Dracula) constantly whip and throw potions or crosses, pay attention to when he jumps. It's hard to avoid getting hit when he corners you into either wall but it's possible as he jumps high, he can jump over you. I'd say it's tough if you got hit two times or more on the first form, but easy otherwise.

>I will never even attempt to beat Death without carrying the Holy Water all the way to him
Even Death is not that bad if you use the cross. You just have to be conservative in your movement. Use the whip and the cross defensively to destroy the scythes. Hell, it's possible whip-only.

Seriously, watch a whip-only playthrough. People exaggerate the difficulty of this game. (at least for the first run.)

Dracula, right?

We're all wrong according to the director of the game, Hitoshi Akamatsu. Dracula is only the first boss in the final stage, then the creature that appears after Dracula is blown apart is an entirely different being which serves as the final boss, which curses Simon, eventually leading to Castlevania II.

It is meant to be an "incarnation of the curse of man," not a demon form of Dracula. The Japanese term is "hito no noroi." It implies Dracula's existence is linked to the innately evil nature of mankind itself.
