Same here. Kraid is such a pain in the ass that I need the extra equipment from doing Norfair and Ridley to beat him quickly and easily.

The only conditioning comes from Super Metroid, I believe, where you are far, far, far more likely to kill Kraid first (I don't even know if you can kill Ridley before Kraid in SM).

I also think the manual mentions Kraid first because he's closer to the start of the game.

slower paced. It takes longer in Super before the world really opens up. You have the intro, Ceres Station, and pretty much until you've explored Old Brinstar before the game starts the adventure proper.

By the same time in Metroid, if you are good, you might have already killed Kraid, or be halfway through Norfair.

There are other little things. The whole "puzzle" of activating the Wrecked Ship, the grapple rooms in Maridia, the QUICKSAND in Maridia (fuck that shit), among others. The game can bog you down in side-stuff, sort of patting itself on the back a little too much.

Metroid, by virtue of having less, lets you get more out of it by focusing on the exploration and shooting first and foremost. It's a faster-paced game, because you're never waiting for anything to happen.

Man, you are way too mad for this conversation. Calm down and post again when you've run out of strawmen.

But your post was more of a "stirring the ruse pot" post, so it's probably not worth bothering.
