It was my very first one. That title however probably goes to Land 2 for me now

What are your favorite Mario games, OP? I really like Land 2.

Alternatively, have you tried any SEGA games besides Sonic? There's other ones you might enjoy, like Dynamite Headdy or Gunstar Heroes. Or the Oasis series if you like Zelda

OP have you tried Super Mario All-Stars? It's all of the NES games but done up in 16-bit style, similar to SMW. There's also Super Mario Land 2 on Game Boy, similar to SMW but smaller and more streamlined.

OP, what is your primary method of playing these games? Some of them only really make sense to play on an actual handheld and not just a browser window or PC emulator. You might also swing by >>10454215 if you just want a better handheld that can play consoles or recs for better handheld games. I like Game Boy but I personally could not get into the Pokemon games. You might fancy a good game of Tetris or Harvest Moon, though. Or just straight up Mario Land 2

90's kids is the answer. We played World first, in fact it was one of the first actual video games I played. Personally I prefer Land 2, but that's just me.

It's not really a sequel. Try Super Mario Land 2, very short and easy game but it's fun to replay over and over imo
