This post is becoming a common occurrence.

There weren't any reviews of Mario 64 that talked about its 'dream-like' feeling. It never had any of that. This is a second wave of nostalgia posting. The old "anyone played Mario 64?" topic is tired so people look for other approaches. There is nothing unsettling about the game other than your own imagination.

>These games are not the worst at all, yet they weren't really the greatest on any platform of any generation. Let alone for the SNES, there come 50 games into my mind which are better than Mario. Not even the best Jump'n'Run.
This part I agree with. I would say Mega Man ruled the NES, DKC was king of the SNES, and Banjo was best for the N64. That's not even bringing up Crash and Sonic, which also had way more charm and personality. The only Mario game that really keeps me coming back is Land 2.

Current Mario (and Nintendo in general) is also a shell of its former self in my opinion, but that's for another thread.
