Having just played the first 3 games for the first time this past month, no it isn't. In fact, I'd say it's the best of the original 3. I'm not sure what all of this drama about the translation sounding like shit, it sounded fine to my ears. The only part of the game that I'd say is bad is the E.E. stuff, not so much even the escort mission (which is overhated) but how much we're supposed to care about her considering how little we're given to like. The ending is top-tier and the sword controls shockingly well. Wish it hadn't been censored because of 9/11, but oh well.
