The core combat and character progression systems are pretty sweet, if not a tad bit slow, but I wasn't a fan of the bland main storyline and premise though. Felt like it was retreading a bit of the Psaro stuff for the major antagonist, and the standalone scenarios didn't quite have the same oomph as DQ7.

I'm not entirely sure what my ideal kind of DQ would be. I wouldn't mind seeing the return of a completely customizable protagonist, but only for the hero as they're supposedly intended to be our avatar. Combine that with an actual cast of allies and Talk feature, and I think it'd be a start.

in turbo, it disabled special moves. If you entered it during the intro while T U R B O went across the screen, you could set higher speeds.
