You're very safe cleaning with 90% isopropyl alcohol, it evaporates before it can damage any electronics. Some dirt won't come off with that so use ammonia/window cleaner or good old warm soapy water, just dip your scrub brush in the water to dampen it then scrub and wipe away then move to alcohol when you rinse. For any stubborn stains like ink use whitening toothpaste. All the Atari stuff I'm seeing is fairly common and low value. There ARE extremely rare and valuable games for Atari but obviously the likelihood of you having any such is pretty low.

You're right that the Master System is neat and is the biggest "treasure" of the bunch. It'll look great displayed on your shelf with the box and there are a lot of great games for it that are pretty inexpensive to collect. It was Sega's equivalent of the NES/Famicom and it had its own cool mascots as well as having some Genesis and Game Gear games "demade" for it.

You may watch Regular Show, it's the video game console Mordecai and Rigby play.

If you start a thread with a pic of it set up all pretty telling your story and asking for game recommendations you'll probably have a great time and get lots of info. You might even end up trading all that 2600 stuff for Master System stuff.
