Also funny to note. Anyone who has seen that Factor 5 N64 interview thread. This was also a Factor 5 game.

This game could have definitely been as good or better than Contra 3 as well. I think some of the control design holds this game back. But it has some great music and stage design. If you could shoot in even 4 directions it would have been at least 25% better.
