i think Pokemon Red felt like how Zelda 1 felt to others to me personally. it was as if if i kept poking around i would stumble on stuff, one time it was eevee, one time it was zapdoes, one time it was mewtwo, the game world felt so cool and mysterious.

it's a shame none of the new games have the same vibe.

DK64 is the peak performance of the N64 hardware. It's a grandiose experience that can give you a lot of playtime over the course of a week or two. It's fun to replay, it has some neato multiplayer modes, the characters are cool and the game encourages you to use all of them.

you only need half the game's main maguffin to beat the game, there's an additional final boss battle if you collect all 200 and beat both jetpack and donkey kong arcade for their coins. this wonderful game is what is known as a filter in this community.

Underground 1 is an earnest adventure of rags to riches with your best friend, it introduces a lot of cool game mechanics to play around with. Underground 2 aped the then at the time popular series Jackass, with Bam and his cohorts like Johnny acting like clowns and doing dangerous silly shit. there's a big focus on some really asinine elements, playing as cameo characters who cannot skate to do some ludicrous thing for a joke.
all the game mechanics are the same as the first one, the story is dumb.
i say play THUG Pro, and or THUG 2 Remix, the former is a fan made package where THUG 2 is used as the base to play all the maps from the entire THPS series, with online multiplayer to boot. the latter is the PSP port of THUG 2 and includes an additional 2 levels, and during the story you get to choose which level you want to go to next.

Diablo 2 is a unilateral upgrade, everything that you could like about Diablo 1 is improved, even the atmosphere. hipsters are the only ones who bend over backwards to put the first one on a pedestal higher than the bigger better sequel.
