when did everyone realize the graphical superiority of the SNES? I would argue that sonic 1 looks a lot better to the untrained eye than mario world

I know that threads like these breed console wars but this time please try to keep it on /v/ where they belong

It blows my mind that we live in a time when the Genesis/Mega Drive has been PROVEN to be inferior almost every way, and Segacucks still defend it because "muh Sonic" or whatever.
There's a reason Sega failed as a hardware developer and now develops games for Nintendo. They were a shit company with no foresight, who released inferior technology, and derivative/uninspired games. Nintendo looked to the future and innovated, while Sega looked to Nintendo and imitated.

If you look at the specs you'll see the SNES could easily push twice as many sprites as the Genesis with one hand tied behind their back. In every single aspect, SNES dominates.

Here's a good example. There was an arcade game made using actual rock music from the band Aerosmith. It had ports to both the SNES and Genesis.
