Did you even listen to the track you posted? That's not dubstep. At most you could say it has some mild dubstep influence, FAR more industrial/noise influence. I guess i missed all those 2012 tracks "skrillex - industrial ambience. Really it's just a mishmash of "heavy" contemporary (popular) electronic music which is pretty fitting considering doom's ost was exactly the same thing, a mishmash of popular riffs of popular rock and metal.

If you've got a hateboner for dubstep and/or doom4 music that's fine, but you can stop invoking the "dub-step" phrase as some misguided put-down.

From characters easily falling behind, to characters recruited at ridiculously low levels.

You can't possibly remember Shining Force, Shining Force is hella unbalanced.

This also isn't true, the battle sprites are notably inconsistent in Shining Force, some look like a giant, others shrink after being promoted, and many of them don't have idle animations.
Even the color pallet is dark and lifeless.
