This is officially the best retro game of all time. It has not been outclassed by newer games because the 2.5d action-platformer genre died 20 years ago.

Even the legendary Ocarina of Time cant compete because twilight princess was arguably an upgrade. And of course legendary games like super mario have already been outclassed by modern indie games

Anyways, if you've never heard of this game, it is your duty to download and play it now

Tomba 1 and 2

What do you think of this game and its sequel? I haven't played them yet but they are supposed to be hybrids of platformer and RPG which seems interesting.

My earliest memory of vidya is playing Tomba at a pizza king, but I imagine my first was either Sonic or Centipede (my moms favorite). I’ll have to ask her tomorrow if she remembers as now I’m curious.

Is this the most soulful game on earth?

Why did it fail so bad? It had tons of personality and a concept which could have been genre defining. There are barely any platformer RPGs in existence. It also received very positive critics.

If normies didn't have such a shit taste there would literally be Tomba 6 releasing now and maybe an entire genre of RPG platformers. Let that sink in.
