Can anyone answer me what the actual canon of these games are?? like, aren't they the same game?

Just what the fuck is up with this franchise?? I remember being a kid and taking the OVA as the canon resolution (Donovan defeating Pyron) but then again,what about the first one??
Isn't Demitri supposed to be the protagonist??
