I was like 10 when this came out and the whole intro got me hyped as fuck for the game. A few years later when I actually got to perfect Chaos in-game I was so into finally seeing Super Sonic and whatever, I didn’t really pay attention to how goofy he looked. I was also aware the game couldn’t look as good as the intro, and back then Sonic Adventure still looked amazing compared to anything else I played at that point.

Just watched the intro now and had the same reaction I have when I see a lot of modern Sonic games, and that’s that it’s just cringey looking at these big headed googly eyed animal characters, in contrast to such serious real life looking drama and settings. Still think it looks good, visually, though.
