I never played Shining Force as a kid because Simone weirded me out. Something about a little elf girl looking up at me over a book as big as her in a dark room with that weird music box-esque tune. Looking back, since I was around six and girls were icky, it probably made me uncomfortable because I thought she was cute.
Oh my god. She was my first vidya crush and I never even realized it until today. Oh my god.

For some reason, one of the most distinct childhood memories I have of Shining Force is Simone causing possibly my first boner ever.

Anyway, I really loved 1 and 2. Never owned a game gear so I never played the GG version
