why do people like this thing again?

Why is it the N64 seems to be much more popular today than the PS1 despite the fact that the PS1 sold far more units? Seriously, I see so many posts talking about N64 games and N64 history, so much nostalgia for it, but then you see far less of that for the PS1 despite the fact that it sold far more. What gives?

Which, in your opinion, is objectively the best of the Nintendo 64's two (2) North American launch titles of all time?

Why was the third party lineup so much worse than the PS1's?

Do you prefer HLE or LLE?

Why did people who grew up with this system end up so maladjusted? They're some of the angriest, most unpleasant people I've ever encountered online. And they're only ever online too. I've never even met a person in real life who owned one which makes it even more strange.

You can meme this all you want, but nothing on PSX comes close to these games. Every 3D game on PlayStation has aged incredibly poorly (except Resident Evil, but many game journalists say the opposite because they require 80+ IQ to play)

Would the N64 have fared better had it been released around 1994 like the other 5th gen systems instead of 2 years later?

The older I get the more I realize this system was absolute cringe

I’ll stick with snes til I die. N64 was cool when we were kids but grownups play snes.

Literally the "retro-console" of gen Z. No person over the age of 21 thinks this is a good system. Shit hardware, shit controller, shit library, etc. 2 or 3 good games doesnt make a great or even a good console. Everyone I know who has or had an N64 had the same 5 games because the rest were absolute shit. It baffles me how anyone could say the n64 is better than the Saturn or PS1.

The last N64 game that was still worth playing on this piece of shit with nauseating graphics and retarded controller this year was SM64, and the Switch finally is bringing an objectively superior sequel that kills it in all aspects.

And no, I didn't come to this board by accident. I love older sprites-based games from the Famicom to the NeoGeo AES, but you need to be intellectually dishonest to say that early 3D games are still playable AND fun.

What are some good, lesser-known (or Europe/Japan exclusive) games for the N64?

This was my first game console (Christmas 1997) and it was the best of its generation.

PSX was a shovelware box, and Saturn has no games (inb4 "m-muh obscure japanese panty-sniffing simulators)
