Stand aside, Mortal. PC master race coming through. It's handheld. It's $2000. Deal with it.

If you want small then go with X-Play. It's tiny, it's cheap, it's capable enough.

OP, you should stop belaboring it and just buy yourself an Xperia Play for about $20 or $30 right now. They're way small, phone-sized but they honestly run about all the stand-alone emulators just fine - they just don't have enough internal memory for putting all of RetroArch's cores on them.

It's a no-brainer assuming you can part with $20-$30 on a whim which I assume you can as a grown-up. Then you can base your further decisions on bigger, better more expensive options.

The Nvidia Shield is a bleeding edge device specs-wise and its controller is pro-tier its screen is just smallish, only 5" but it can stream content to DLNA TVs easy peasy. They're about $200 though.

Then there's THIS motherfucker right here. Not really worth the money if you ask me but it'd do... well, pretty much anything you could reasonably ask of it. Like $1200 though.

I've never personally seen one so I can't really testify to the screen quality vs the GT though it is much bigger. Between the relative unreliability of NEC hardware of that age and the ribbon-kinking clamshell design I'm a little leery of it especially for three or four times the already outrageous price of the GT... I really can't in good faith suggest anybody buy a $1,000 console to carry around. For that price you could have a Razer Edge!
