Why do people make such a fuss over the boots switching in the water temple? I played the game twice and didn't have any problem with it. And I say this as a zoomer born in 2005.
Are you guys genuinely disabled?

I just find it slightly tedious more than anything now, but my very first time playing this game was on my cousin's copy back in the day, on a save file that wasn't his own to begin with, that just so happened to have stopped in the middle of playing through the Water Temple, so we were confused as fuck as to where to go. It took us like a week to figure it out.
