Gosh damn it that was a ton of work. Getting my doom.bat launcher to read the registry in 32>32, 32>64, 64>32 and 64>64-bit permutations was a nightmare but the good thing is that it can locate doom wads from Steam libraries located in other locations than default and on other drives -- better than any DOOM port's native support. That batch file is an f'ing work of art I swear.
