I like the 3 platforms spread across bottom, middle and upper parts, and jumping across them, making a sideways 8 movement, "dancing" around them non-stop and hitting them on openings or during a mid jump.
Dancing spectres is one of my favorite horror tropes and strangely underused in modern media.

I always loved this boss. It's an unlikely concept for a boss, but it's actually very fitting for Castlevania.
I love how they're constantly dancing toward you so that you have to constantly move around them using the platforms around, so you're essentially dancing along with them.

I guess it mainly has to do with 1) art direction, 2) setting and 3) difficulty. I mean you can't deny there are similarities.

>The thing I didn't like about IV is that they made the game longer than they sould and it feels spread too thin.

This is somewhat true, IV has around 12 or 13 stages, that's the same amount Rondo has, except Rondo is divided in half due to having alternate levels.

I really like IV's graphics and I don't find them ugly, although yes they have some sort of more "organic" look, but it had some great spritework, many of which were later reused on SOTN and subsequent games, along with many sprites from Rondo, too.
I don't see what's embarrasing about mode7 stuff.

The dancing ghost couple from IV, probably.

My strategy is to never stay in one place, and only hit them while I'm jumping, quickly turn around and use the whip or some sub-weapon if I have any, preferably cross.
