speedrunning is kind of degenerate, i prefer playing games STRAIGHT not twisted (gay)

>How do you enjoy your retro jrpgs? Do you explore every nook and cranny?
Enjoy them at night before going to bed, explore almost everything.
>Do you talk to every npc?
99% yes
>Do you grind to feel badass or prefer to be under-leveled?
Don't grind and don't run from battles, play them straight.
>Do you save often or rarely? Do you use fast-forward on emulators or take slow as intended?
Save often. I don't fast-forward unless there is some intense backtracking required or the battle system is too slow. Fast-forward ruins the atmosphere too much, I'm not trying to speedrun finish these games lol.

>Do you optimize gear/magic or wing it?
Optimize a lot but not min/max autism.
>Do you use certain naming methods?
Main character will have a variation of my own name lol.

>Do you use strategy guides or avoid all spoilers? Do you replay games you like or is it once and done?
Try to avoid guides unless super stuck. Playing Saga atm
SaGa's challenging in its own way, definitely tricky! but I wouldn't say it's SUPER hard outside of some exceptions, it does strike a near perfect balance though.
What makes those games challenging is that the rulesets are pretty complex and the games ask you to understand them on your own while giving you several clues and checks to see if you are paying attention, the more you learn about the systems and how they work with each other the easier the games get, to the point you'll wonder why you were even struggling with some things since the games don't check you hard in terms of statistics but how much you understand about mechanical tricks that go beyond statistics.
