I would rate the original model a 6/10. It gets boring quickly because of the limited games limited amount of different creatures you can raise. The tamagotchi connections are when they started to have more replay value, especially the V2 with the shop and different items you can get.
I think you should keep in mind these weren't really meant as "video games" instead as virtual pets, something you take care of in the background while going on with your life.
