I just tried it out now that you've mentioned it.
The first couple of years were kinda rough, but I was quickly able to build up my economy after I built my third coaster.
After my fourth coaster, I was practically swimming in money, so that wasn't an issue, anymore.

The real difficulty came from getting my park value up. I just cheesed it by building a bunch of launched looping coasters that do 20 laps.
There were probably less "cheaty" ways of doing this, but since there is no time limit and I basically have unlimited money, I was too bored to minmax using "real" coasters.
