Anything I should know going into Castlevania III? Besides the JP audio, of course

I played 1 and 2 for the first time this October, having never played a Castlevania before, and ready to sit down and play III. Anything I need to know to make my experience more pleasureable?

You ever notice how many Japanese games are about practicing a level over and over, getting a little better each time, until you finally are good enough to beat the level? Sounds like kaizen, doesn't it? Are Japanese games secretly teaching you how to be an effective worker?

This is the thought I asked myself when reflecting yesterday on finally finishing Dracula's Curse.

Has anyone beaten this game? The level with the falling blocks is making me want to kill myself. As soon as you get past all that you have to jump on collapsing platforms while medusa heads knock you around. I'm mad as hell, bro.
