I have a C128D which is massive as fuck. 7 kg, 43cmx38cmx10cm.
I haven't played in ages, it's easier to emulate it and other platforms.
Save feature was mainly used for the larger games that filled one or more floppy. I often just let the computer running over night for prolonged sessions.

Try looking for a C128. It can play C64 software and gives you some further options. BASIC 7 is more useful than BASIC 2 if you want to program yourself. It also has a RGBi output.
The D model has the disk drive built in and the keyboard detached instead.
