Sigil + D4V. D4V uses fancy vanilla-compatible brightmaps that only work in software mode. I'd recommend Crispy Doom, though if you do that, you'll be limited to Jimmy's MIDIs. If you want to use the Buckethead soundtrack you can use PrBoom or GZDoom

I recommend you do not pistol start for your first playthrough because the starts of map02 and map03 are very difficult and require foreknowledge to beat if doing pistol starts
