Having not played the Virtual Boy one, Wario Land 1, WL4, and Shake It! are the only good ones.
2 especially is awful. It took everything about 1 that made it a unique, fun experience that looked and played great, into a tedious chore. And a fucking ugly one at that, good lord. It's a legitimately bad game.

Getting good and running through classic Super Mario Bros. is one of the most satisfying things in video games. Then Miyamoto, in his infinite wisdom, gave us Super Mario Bros. 2 on FDS so that we can continue to get good and obtain more satisfaction. Once your good at Lost Levels other run-and-jump platformers are boring except maybe N++

Play an older game like Ice Climber and you'll see why Mario 1 was such a big deal when it came out. The amount of control you have over Mario while contending with his momentum is liberating yet challenging and satisfying to master, when you can duck jump and slide and fidget around just right to cut through the obstacle courses like butter.

Not him but /vr/ is so godawful now, we're pretty much already there. The /v/ermin have long since nestled in and they won't be leaving anytime soon, allowing 6th generation games probably wouldn't make much of a difference at this point.

I have a GBA SP, which really isn't very ergonomic for long play sessions, so the SNES adapter is probably a better choice. I just wasn't sure if there was a better option I was overlooking.
eg. Raphnet also has a N64 controller adapter, and ones for Wii Classic Controllers- which would open up a few more options, but I find original SNES controllers more robust than the SNES mini re-release ones.

Shouldn't be a surprise Nintendo has relegated him.
Shame though. I wanted some kind of picaresque heist game (3D in the style of Sly Cooper, or 2D in the style of Trilby: Art of Theft) starring him and Waluigi. Makes sense given Nintendo doesn't have any kind of stealth property, and they clearly don't want him intruding into Mario's platformer territory.

It's a shame Nintendo stopped making Wario games. They formed a neat contrast to the ordinary wholesomeness of the Mushroom Kingdom. It's also a shame Waluigi has never gotten any love.

They need to make a platform game about him (or both him and Wario) sneaking in to rob banks and museums with a group of picaresque cronies.
