Is Star Fox for SNES worth playing since Star Fox 64 is basically a remake that's better?

Also, post remakes that make the original obsolete I guess

So my score isn't registered after I clear a path in this game. Is it normal? why would they show the path's score on the bottom right corner of the screen when choosing your path then?

What gives ?

I found this
>FrameSkip = 7 # 200=automatic (limits at 50/60 fps), 0=none, 1=skip every other, ...
but it's not doing what I want it to.

I'll just come out and say that I want to make Starfox a LITTLE faster to match those "overclocked SNES" videos. 143% is too fast.

Is there any way to save this game? I just played it for the first time today and I'm horrible at it. You have to beat the entire thing in one sitting?

First of all, don't freak out or flame the balls off of me, but I'm legitimately curious. Is there any way to improve Starfox SNES by altering any settings on emulators?

Would altering the refresh rate even do anything?

I'm not seeing any reason to play the SNES version over the N64 one.
