First time rgb cry owner, I just got a Sony pvm. Is there a guide out there that can help me configure it from factory settings.

I'm also confused as to why when I play a game on snes the image is displayed with approximately 1in black borders on all sides, but when I use the 240p test suite it fills the whole screen. I know the snes has different video modes but I'm not entirely sure what's going on.
