I tried Faxanadu but couldn't get into it. Graphics are shit, controls are shit but maybe I'll give it another chance

If you want Zelda 2 likes, Getsu Fuma Den, Gargoyle's Quest 2 , Castlevania 2 are all good though I liked Zelda 2 more than all of those
