Funny, I've been watching Zeta Gundam hooked up to my CRT as well. Glad I still have a laptop with s-video out.

Not a fan of Mplayer or VLC because of a lack of anvanced subtitle control, among other things, but an old version of KMplayer works fantastic besides not being able to display fancy subtitle effects, which, as far as I'm concerned, is usually a good thing.

Though I'd rather use a decent CRT computer monitor for this kind of thing, but I got rid of mine ages ago and it's hard to find people willing to part with a good one these days. HD 4:3 anime on a Trinitron computer monitor and a good speaker system I'm pretty sure would be bliss.

The Wii is pretty terrible for playing video files encoded within the last few years because everything is h.264 these days. which nothing on the Wii will play full speed as far as I know. Make sure to check to the codec...xvid or divx should almost always run in SD on WiiMC.
