I like meaningful structured exploration. It can be a mansion, or a square with surrounding buildings, or a tomb complex - the important part is that I can engage in methodical fill-the-map autism. A good ingame map is often a sign of a good FM.
Swiss cheese design where everything connects to everything is kinda annoying, though can also be good in moderation. Linear maps where you need to find the exact key, push the exact button and disintegrate the exact statue with a sword - usually suck.
"Life of the Party" is a classic, but I'm the boring "Shipping and Receiving" kinda guy.
